Well, it's been almost 6 months since my last post. Hopefully I will do better. I am very tempted to give this blog to Katie as part of her school project! These pictures were taken at Anna Claire's birthday party and at the lake house when we visited with Tom's parents.

We will start our second week of homeschool tomorrow and Parker and Braden will start Lake Ridge Academy next Tuesday. We celebrated Kara's birthday Saturday with an olympic party and we had alot of fun - more pictures to come....hopefully!

Recent Pictures

Two weeks before Christmas, Katie and Kara had their first "sisters only trip." They flew all by themselves to San Antonio to visit and Nana and Papa and their friends. They had a great time- going to their class Christmas parties, helping Nana bake Christmas goodies and playing cards with Nana and Papa.

With the girls gone, the boys did play!I did try to get a Christmas card picture of the kids, but, as always, this is not easy. I think on Christmas Eve I did get a better picture, and I will post that one later. (It's still in my camera)

These pictures were taken at our neighborhood park with the help of Aunt Lauren when she came to visit and help us get adjusted.

One great thing about moving up here has been that we are able to see Trent and his family more. Here is a rare good picture of all the kids!

It's A Boy!

We are excited to announce the latest addition to the Wilson family...a skunk.

As you likely already know from our previous posts we recently built a new home. We closed on the home in early November.

We (Dionne and Tom) slept in our new home the first night excited to have a brand new home. All was well. But on night two we heard sounds. Neither of us knew what it was. So Tom went outside armed with a broom ready to take on whatever disturbed the peace. But, alas, nothing was found. So we can came to the conclusion that it must be mice.

The next day we called the builder who sent out a pest control company. Scott, the pest control guy, brought some mice/rate bait and put it in the variouos attic spaces. A few days past and the sounds continued. Tom checked the baits, but nothing had eaten them. And in the mean time the scratching noises had moved from the ceiling over the master bedroom down to the area around the master bedroom bath tub.

When Scott came back over and looked at the area under the master bathtub it was realized that the varmint was larger than a mouse or rate. Based on the claw marks Scott said it could be a possum, racoon, or a skunk, but he predicted that it would be a skunk. So Scott went a purchased a cage, some sardines, and put the cage in our master bathroom with the warning to keep the door closes and don't mess with what is captured especially if it is a skunk.

Not wanting to miss the opportunity to have a competition, each person in the Wilson household chose what animal they thought it would be and what time it would be caught. But we caught nothing. So about a week later Scott came back and put the cage in the attic. The first night we heard our tenant scratching and banging around but he didn't take the bait. But on night two, we caught him! Tom was so excited he was giddy as a kid on Christmas. But Dionne wouldn't let him go look. So he waited until morning upon which he found our unwelcomed tenant in the trap.

So Scott came by the house with his son James and get the trap out of the attic. This was no small undertaking as he had to get a large plastic bag around the cage without getting sprayed. But God was good and the skunk was well behaved. No spray, no smell whatsoever.

So off to the woods we went to release the skunk. Scott loaded the cage on the back of his truck. And then released him.

Building a House

Well, we've been in the process of building a new home. In the mean time we are living with Dionne's mom and dad, and Tommy is commuting three days a week to attend seminary.

The kids love going bike riding with Papa!

Ryan loves golf. Tommy has successfully brainwashed him!

Parker would have mowed all summer long if you would have let him. He is a hard worker! He is the only one who stays outside the whole time and helps Dad or Papa with the yard work.

The girls had a great time selling ice blue raspberry lemonade.

They even made up their own cheers in the hopes of drawing customers.

First Day of School 2007

Each year the kids make signs and have their picture taken.

They are finally all in school. For the first time in 10 years, I have no little ones at home with me. Many times through the years, I had wondered what it would be like and wished it would come soon, (especially the days when I had 3 in diapers!)but I have to say, that I miss them.

Usually during the summer, we spend alot of time at the pool, but because of all the rain we have had, we have been unable to swim as much as we would have liked. But here is proof that there have been some sunny days here!

Time with Family

This week the Wilson family went their separate ways and got to see family we don't get to see very often. While Tom was traveling for work, the boys went to Tom's parents for a week of fun- filled with swimming, fishing, and going to the beach. I'll try to post pictures of them later. That left just the girls and me at home, so on Wednesday we went with Nana and Papa to Dallas to visit Granddaddy and do some shopping at the outlet malls on the way there. We celebrated Granddaddy's birthday with my cousins and aunt and uncle. This is a picture of Granddaddy with his great grandchildren. The only ones not there were my boys and Trent's kids. It was good to see everyone.

On Friday we went to Trent's and celebrated Anna Claire's birthday. Here are pictures of Nana and Anna Claire, Papa, Trent and Harrison, and Katie, Kara and Anna Claire.

By Sunday night the Wilson family was finally under the same roof, and it was good to be together. The next day, the kids played so well together- you could tell they missed each other.
